BBQ jackfruit sandwiches are so filling, and is such a great meat substitute, most meat lovers hardly notice the difference when I serve this when entertaining. So go give it a try!
- 3 cups of jackfruit canned or fresh- I use fresh
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 3/4 cup vegan BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup of water
Rinse, drain, and thoroughly dry jackfruit and slice into thin long pieces. Add spices to jackfruit and toss to coat.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the seasoned jackfruit.
Then add the BBQ sauce tossing frequently to cook and coat the jackfruit for about 5 minutes. Then add water and cook for about 20 minutes. It pairs well with the avocado slaw-check recipe for details.
