From the time I was a child, rice was a staple in my house and it still is today. I absolutely love rice in any fashion, especially when it has a kick to it. So if you like spice and you like rice, then this recipe is for you. Go give it a try!
Spicy Red Beans And Rice
Red beans and rice with a kick to it!

red kidney beans

onion powder

black pepper

cayenne pepper

hot sauce

brown rice

vegan butter

tsp
scallions

water

Heat olive oil in large saucepan and saute garlic and onions until tender.

Stir in drained kidney beans, salt, pepper, onion powder, cayenne pepper and hot sauce.

Add the water, butter and rice and stir and return to boil. Cook for about 20 mins or until the rice is done. Let stand for 5 minutes from heat before serving.

Garnish with green onions (scallions).
